After their widely acclaimed first album « Adulting » released last year, CLAPTRAP returns with a new single called « Longclap ». It has been one band’s favorite live numbers in the past few months and they were eager to record and release it as soon as they could.

Singer songwriter Eric Pasquereau explains: « It comes from a demo I worked on, fueled by accidents and cut-ups, lyrically and musically. I was trying to relate and recapture confusion and absurdity. That lies in most, if not all, situations. If you’re breathing you’re confused. »

CLAPTRAP take their signature sound (electrified mandolin, wobbly percusion, and eerie synth) into new heights. Reminiscing early Beck and Tom Ze, Arto Lindsay and some mild Deerhoof, it mainly has the band's own twists and turns, highlighted by a sing-along chorus that makes for a good hit song.

Helped out by Pierre-Antoine Parois recording, Stephane Laporte mixing, Brice Kartmann mastering.
